It is officially Christmas time at our house. It feels like Christmas, it smells like Christmas and it looks like Christmas. We tend to be early preparers around this house. (I know, that is a huge surprise for those who know me.) This year for whatever reason (Bishop, Tithing Settlement, Bishop, Governing Board for me, Bishop) we were a little behind. But, we have arrived. The tree, the decorations, not the baking, but a candle that makes it smell like I have baked. And, we have now watched White Christmas and Miracle on 34th Street (the original black and white version.) Listening to Josh Groban's Noel, and The Nutcraker by the San Francisco Ballet as well. What a wonderful time of year. The kids are excited about Christmas break and so am I. I love the lazy days.
On another note, Ella used the word "amn't" in a sentence correctly the other day. See an earlier post for the words origin and correct usage in the English language. I lost it and started giggling. As much as I don't want to, we are going to have to start correcting Lauren when she says it. Sigh....
Ella also figured out that I have another name besides mom. She got this odd look on her face and then she smiled and said "Oh Jessica, it's beautiful, Jessica it's lovely." What a sweetpea.
