Has it really only been 3 weeks...

since school got out?

In that time, we have:

Re-roofed our house.  A project that was supposed to take only 3 days, which extended to 6 days and a whole lot more trouble than anyone anticipated.  That project led to...

Fixing a whole buch of flower garden and front of the house landscaping issues because your gutter is not supposed to come off your house in one piece to everyones surprise.

Painting the Living Room because of the water damage when the rain which was NOT on anyone's radar came before the whole roof was completely dried in.  The painting led to....

Fixing a shelf which lost a bracket unexpectedly just after putting everything it holds on it.  Which led to...

The reasaon we have hot glue.  A crafters best friend.

We have also had 2 weeks of swimming lessons for 3 kids. 

Been to a couple of summer movies and a few times to lunch in the park

Saw our daddy off on a 7 day (yes that's count em' 7 full complete days) trip to Washington DC.  While we missed him very much, he did set up (with a little help from me) a 7 day scavenger hunt for the kidos.  They couldn't wait to see what each day would bring.  Nothing huge, one day it was a trip to the dollar stor, another day was play-dough, one day was a fun snack, and one day was a book of mad-libs. (Thank you daddy, for the oh-so thoughtful super duper huge book of mad-libs while you are OUT of town.  I really think you have to be between 6 and 10 yrs of age to truly appreciate the humor of mad-libs day after day after day.)

A cancelled flight on the way home.  A dad who should have been home by 5  PM Saturday night (again after 7 days) but didn't get here until 11 PM.  Now that is a fun one to explain to 3 really excited kids (and one tired, pregnant wife.)  (Plus the next day being Sunday and full of fun early morning meetings meant that his counselors had seen him more that we did until Sunday afternoon. hmmmm.) 

Started our "Summer, Let's Not Forget Everything We Learned In School Last Year Program."  Flashcards, reading, spelling, sight words etc. 

Taught Lauren to ride her bike!!!  Yes, she is a full fledged bike rider!  I love seeing the look of freedom and excitement on their faces when they realize you were not actually trying to kill them by teaching them to ride.  She suddenly realized how cool it is to have the freedom of her own wheels.  Such Fun

And have gotten 3 weeks closer to a cute little bundle of girlish joy in our house.  As I type this, we have 8 weeks and 2 days to go until 3 kids becomes 4.  maybe it's time to start thinking about where we are going to put her?....  Really, why do we need to put her anywhere?  I will just want to hold her all the time. 

I think I will go take a nap.
