Roofing

Just how important is a roof over your head.  I have been thinking about how grateful I am that I'm so blessed to live in a great neighborhood with the world's best neighbors, and in a house that keeps us warm and dry.  There is nothing like finding out however that your roof would not have been keeping you warm and dry for very much longer.  As I type this, my dad, brother and 2 of his crew are sounding like really big squirrels. (It's a pocatello thing, squirrels that have no fear of humans and get as big as an average housecat, no they do not softly scamper like playful woodland creatures over your roof.)  Apparently our roof is kind of a pain in the bum.  I am grateful that I am not having to pay full labor/retail for this roof, cause if that were the case, we might have to do without for a while....

PS. While I am saving money on the job, there is something to be said for the emotional cost of having your dad as your contractor.  A dad who has no love of an older home with lots of charm and potential.  I just keep telling myself, "I love my house, I love my house, I am saving $, I am saving $.

  1. Yay for new roofs, saving money, owning a home, and not living in tornado country! I hope it all goes smoothly for the remainder of your roofing process.
