If you look at my previous posts, you might assume that I only have little girls. While these two crazy redheads do take up a large chunk of my time, I am the mother of the kindest, smartest, most all around incredible boy ever! We have been doing science experiements all summer. Last year was secret agent training, next summer will be the rest of the science stuff we didn't get to, with art camp thrown in as well. This is a video of our final experiment for the summer. Exploding diet coke by dropping mentos into it. (In a nutshell.....The mentos collect air bubbles then because they are a heavy, dense candy, they drop to the bottom of the bottle very quickly. All that air around the candy wants to rise, so as it shoots up to the top of the bottle, it takes the liquid with it.) Huge success the boys loved it, and could probably have used 12 more bottles. (Noah just told me they could have used 20 more bottles.) Our other big hit for the summer was tie die shirts using sharpie pens and rubbing alcohol. Another HUGE success!
But alas for him (and a tiny bit for me) summer is coming to an end. Next week school begins again and I will be the parent of a third grader! I remember being a third grader. I remember being in Mrs. Roberts class, I cannot believe that he will be creating memories like those of his own......sigh......followed by a huge smile. I love watching him grow.
