I waxed my eyebrows the other day. (My philosophy is, “Why pay someone obscene amounts of money to brutally rip out your hair when you can inflict that upon yourself.”) I brush on baby powder right before waxing to protect the skin, and I let the girls go at it with the brush and powder when I was done. Oh my goodness, they spent an hour putting on their makeup. Ella would hardly take time to look at the camera she was so busy and focused on her “makemup.”
Do you remember that feeling? Do you remember watching your mom put on makeup and thinking about how much fun that would be? Oh to be “mature” enough to wear makeup. Oh how the world would recognize you as a beautiful, independent, strong, young woman.
Don’t you wish you could go back and talk some sense into that girl? I would tell her that someday you are going to wake up and rate your good days by whether or not you had to put on mascara. But, you will thank your lucky stars to live in the age of concealer.

I don't know how we make it look so carefree and glamorous to be a grown up, but I do remember that feeling. If only we could trade places with our kids for a day.
