The English language

You never realize just how complicated the english language is until you try to learn another language, or have little ones navigating the complex rules.  For example, food becomes feed, mouse becomes mice, moose is just moose, blood becomes bleed.  Then you change the words into verbs with the addition of let's say "ing."  Add contractions to the mix and wow!  I am becomes I'm, do not becomes don't, can not becomes can't.  So let's see what happens when all of the lessons are combined by a five year old,

Lauren: "I scraped my knee!"
Mom: "oh no baby, are you ok?"
Lauren: "yeah"
Mom: "let me see"
Lauren: "it's ok, I am'nt blooding"

I have have no idea why am'nt isn't a part of everyday language.  It will forever be a part of the Owens' household vocabulary.
